Julius Karoubi's Motorcycle dancing through traffic is a mixed media work combining polymer plaster, acrylic paint, grout, and stained pine. The composition is organized across a flat plane in three horizontal bands, with red zones at the top and bottom bracketing a central orange section, each zone separated by gray bands. Across the red areas, speckled white dots are distributed with consistency, sitting within a granular, matte surface that reads as tactile even at a distance. The entire field is fragmented into irregular polygonal tiles divided by light gray grout lines, a structuring device that runs uniformly across the color zones and gives the work its dominant visual logic. The result is a surface in which chromatic warmth and geometric fragmentation operate together without either resolving into the other.
